Breathtaking Craftsmanship: Explore the Cordoba Luthier Series Guitars

If you are a pro, a guitar aficionado, or simply someone who enjoys sitting down and strumming a few chords, the Cordoba Luthier Series Guitars are sure to grab your attention. Known for their impeccable quality, rich tones, and exquisite design, the Cordoba Luthier Series represents the pinnacle of hand-built production guitars coming out of China. Each guitar in the series is hand-crafted by a select team of luthiers, committed to the highest levels of craftsmanship, ensuring you have a guitar you’ll be proud to own. In my decade long relationship with Cordoba, I can honestly say these are indeed the best value and quality guitars Cordoba has offered to date.

1. Cordoba C10: Elegance Redefined

The Cordoba C10 from the Luthier Series is a masterpiece in every sense. Handcrafted with solid Canadian cedar or European spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, the C10 produces clear and resonant tones. Either the spruce or cedar are perfect for the intermediate player/student looking for a beautifully crafted instrument with which to pursue their  guitar studies. With its traditional Spanish fan bracing, luxurious hand-inlaid rosette, and ebony fingerboard, the Cordoba C10 exudes elegance and sophistication.

2. Cordoba C9: Timeless Beauty

For those seeking a classic yet affordable instrument, the Cordoba C9 is an excellent choice. Crafted with a solid Canadian cedar or European spruce top and stunning solid mahogany back and sides, the C9 delivers a warm and full sound which is so characteristic of mahogany. Pairing either the cedar or spruce top allows the player to accentuate string separation with spruce, or blend in additional tonal coloration with the cedar. In either case, both versions offer a superb tonal experience. The C9’s lightweight build and traditional Spanish fan bracing make it a joy to play, while its mother-of-pearl rosette and high-gloss polyurethane finish add to its overall intrinsic beauty.

3. Cordoba C12: The Epitome of Refinement

Indulge yourself in the epitome of refinement with the Cordoba C12. A favorite of many pro’s and serious amateur players. This guitar boasts a solid European spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, offering an exceptionally balanced and resonant sound. The C12's lattice bracing design and elevated fingerboard enhance playability, projection, and volume, while its intricate mother-of-pearl "Esteso" rosette and high-gloss finish make it a true work of art. The C12 is a perfect candidate for a Barbera pickup upgrade, which All Strings Nylon offers as an option.

4. Cordoba C12 CD: Experience Elegance in Cedar

The Cordoba C12 CD, with its solid Canadian cedar top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, delivers a warmer and more intimate tone compared to its spruce-top counterpart. Its lattice bracing pattern and elevated fingerboard ensure excellent projection and playability, and like its spruce counterpart, it has plenty of volume, making it an exceptional choice for discerning players. Like the C12 spruce version, All Strings Nylon offers this amazing guitar with a Barbera Soloist pickup as an option.

5. Cordoba GK Pro Negra: The Musicians’ Workhorse

The Cordoba GK Pro Negra is what I like to call the Swiss Army Knife of guitars. An extremely versatile guitar, it's a perfect guitar for the multi-stylist gigging musician who is looking for a single instrument to cover all the bases. Whether it be classical, pop, fingerstyle jazz, bossa, or flamenco, this GK Pro Negra will handle it all beautifully. This guitar features a solid European spruce top paired with solid Indian rosewood back and sides, producing a rich, chocolaty sound. However, it is also capable of producing a crisp and percussive sound that is the hallmark of flamenco music.

Either way, the GK Pro Negra easily fits the bill for almost every style of playing depending on how it’s set-up. Its shallower, lightweight body and low action make it ideal for fast, rhythmic playing, and its tonal palette is broad enough to articulate just about any style. An added benefit is its 50mm nut width, which makes it the perfect guitar for executing classical pieces without feeling cramped and yet narrow enough to comfortably play a myriad of other styles. All Strings Nylon also offers this guitar with a Barbera soloist pickup upgrade package.

6. Cordoba C10 Crossover: Versatility Unleashed

The Cordoba C10 Crossover bridges the gap between classical and steel-string guitars. With a solid European spruce top and solid Indian rosewood back and sides, this guitar offers the tonal palette of a traditional classical guitar combined with the playability of a steel-string. Whether strumming chords or fingerpicking, the C10 Crossover delivers exceptional tonal versatility.

7. Cordoba C9 Crossover: The Best of Both Worlds

Experience the best of both worlds with the Cordoba C9 Crossover. Featuring a solid Canadian cedar top and solid mahogany back and sides, this guitar provides the projection and clarity of a steel-string guitar while maintaining the essence of a classical instrument. The C9 Crossover's comfortable neck profile and radiused fingerboard offer a familiar feel to steel-string players transitioning to classical-style guitars.

Conclusion

In conclusion, the Cordoba Luthier Series Guitars represent the epitome of guitar craftsmanship and artistry. From the timeless elegance of the Cordoba C10 to the captivating flamenco finesse of the Cordoba GK Pro Negra, each guitar in this series serves as a testament to the unwavering dedication, passion, and vision of the Cordoba team.
